The Crucible: Exploring identity workshop Peter Reynolds, Creative Director of Stagework , led this 2 hour workshop at the National Theatre with actors from The Crucible company and students and teachers from a London comprehensive. Aims The aim of the workshop is to explore ideas of community and personal identity not only as they are displayed in Arthur Miller’s play, but also as they enacted by contemporary young people in the theatre of their everyday lives. Preparation Students should be familiar with The Crucible and especially all the scenes involving the girls – Abigail Williams, Betty Parris, Mary Warren, Susanna Wallcott, and Mercy Lewis.
